Biography of Ambassador  Rachid MEDDAH

Married, four children
Diplomas:
– Diploma of National School of Administration “Diplomatic section”
– Postgraduate diploma (DEA) (Master II) in Public Administration from
Grenoble University France
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1985.
Before his nomination as the Ambassador of Algeria in Denmark in November
2019, he respectively occupied the following senior functions at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and the Algerian diplomatic and consular missions abroad.
– 1985-1991 First Secretary, in charge of economy in the Direction of European
socialist countries /Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
–1991-1995 First Secretary and diplomatic counselor in charge of economic
affairs/Algerian Embassy in Lisbon Portugal.
– 1995-1997 Diplomatic Counselor in charge of the status of the person in the
Department of Consular affairs /Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
– 1997-1999 Head of Division at the Consular affairs Department
– 1999-2001 Deputy Director for Civil Status at the Consular affairs
Department
– 2001- 2005 Consul of Algeria in Grenoble (France).
– 2005-2008 Deputy Director for personnel management.
– 2008- 2009 Director of human resources.
– 2009- 2015 General Consul of Algeria in Istanbul.
– 2015-November 21st 2019 Inspector in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
– Since November 22nd 2019 Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of
Algeria to the Kingdom of Denmark.
He was a member of the Algerian delegations that took part in joint
commissions, conferences and international summits (UN-OIC- thematic world
conferences).
In addition to the Arabic language, he speaks French, English and Turkish
language (read and spoken).
